4. Why should I choose one kind of automotive window tinting over the other?
If you want the best tint, a lifetime warranty, and you are willing to pay a little extra up front to save money in the long run and get high performance benefits, then go with automotive ceramic window films.
Otherwise, it is fine to go with a regular carbon film tint, more for just the looks and UV blocking.
I would just recommend staying away from dyed films because dyed films are cheap and most will fade and or turn purple in a few years or less.
5. What’s the best window film for heat rejection?
I recommend Premium Nano-Ceramic film. it’s designed to cut out much more heat than other films on the market… Up to 98% IR Heat Rejection. The other option would be a Carbon Ceramic film that blocks up to 88% IR Heat… We offer both!
6. Is there really a difference in quality between certain types of film?
Definitely. You can buy cheap window tint at any auto parts store, but it’ll probably deteriorate, fade and bubble very quickly. Every manufacturer makes multiple lines of film—some are better than others and each carries a different warranty. I only use high-quality products. There are different quality levels within the products I offer as well, so I can walk you through your options and find the right product for your needs.
7. Do you install window tint that offers UV protection?
Yes. All of the films I install block out 99.9% harmful UVA and UVB rays that can cause cancer and premature aging.
8. Is window tinting legal and how dark can I legally tint my automotive windows?
On the back half of trucks, SUVs, and Van’s, all windows behind driver and passenger windows can be as dark as you like legally in South Carolina and front driver and passenger windows have to meter at 27% VLT or lighter to be legal.
Two door cars and four door Sedans on the other hand legally have to be 27% VLT (or lighter) on all sides and back window to be legal in SC.
The darkness of tint is measured by the Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%).
In South Carolina, this percentage refers to the percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window glass itself.
That is to say, it’s my job to educate you about the law and explain which products cross that line. It’s your ride and you can do what you like… We will go over your different tint shade options on the day of your appointment.
9. Is automotive window tinting legal?
Yes, automotive window tinting is legal, but there are legal limits on how dark you can go that vary by type of vehicle, what window(‘s) and what state the vehicle is registered with. Consult one of our specialists for details. Contact Us HERE!
10. Why is your warranty better than everyone else’s & do you guarantee your work and products?
We perform the warranty work for you and deal with the factory instead of asking you to.
Yes, our warranty covers both labor and materials if the tint fades, bubbles, or comes away from the glass for any reason. Nothing last forever, but our automotive window films to come with a lifetime warranty!
The warranty does not cover scratches or tears.
However, all of my customers receive a 50% discount on tint replacement if this should ever occur.
These warranties are in effect as long as you own your vehicle—product guarantees don’t transfer if the vehicle is sold. If there’s ever a problem with your window film, you can bring it to me or any nationwide dealer shop and get it redone for free.
11. Where are you located?
We are based off of W. Georgia Rd. in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.
Please call or text (864) 778-8468 and set up an appointment as we are By Appointment Only!
12. Will you come to my location?
At this time the short answer is No… we do not come mobile to your location. We prefer a controlled environment to better guarantee a cleaner job. We go mobile within the Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Greenville SC areas only if we absolutely have to per our own discretion.
13. Will automotive window tinting damage my rear defroster?
No, it will not. Our technique is compatible with rear defrosters.
14. How long does it take to have automotive window tinting installed?
It depends on the type of vehicle you have, how many windows it has, and what kind of film you want.
But… Typically, a tint job on a four-door sedan takes about 2 to 4 hours, but you should expect to leave your vehicle for most of the day to allow for cleanup and unforeseen challenges that may pop up.
15. Can automotive window tinting ever be removed?
Yes. As an Automotive Window Tinting tint professional, I can remove your old tint.
For example, if you acquire a car with faded or bubbling tint, or if you lease a car and want to remove it at the end of the lease before returning it to the dealership, contact our shop!
16. What do I use to clean my tinted windows?
Spray Away or Warm water and a soft cloth.
Never use a window cleaner unless it is specifically formulated for use on aftermarket tinted windows.
17. What are the benefits of automotive window tinting on my car’s windows?
Automotive Window Tinting film protects both you and your car from the damaging effects of the sun.
With the ever-increasing breakdown of our ozone layer, dermatologists warn against overexposure to the sun.
Polarized sunglasses protect the eyes, sunblock protects the skin, and window film protects the interior of your car.
*Put the $3000.00 that it would cost you to get your car reupholstered from sun damage back in your pocket!
*Reject up to 89 percent of the sun’s total solar energy
*Block out almost 100 percent of harmful and damaging ultraviolet rays
*Reduce interior heat
*Reduce utility costs
*Improve occupant comfort
*Reduce glare – great when driving at night with headlights in your rear window.
*Increased privacy also means increased security. What a thief can’t see, he won’t steal. “Out of sight, out of mind”
*Extend air conditioning equipment life
*Add shatter protection from accidents, storms, and burglars
*Drastically improves the appearance of the car – “Some cars just look like fishbowls without tint.”
18. Do you have to remove my windows to tint them?
No. I tint the inside surfaces of the windows while in the vehicle because they’re more stable and at a better angle, and so I can guarantee a cleaner job. This also protects your car’s windows and doors from accidental damage that can occur during window removal and replacement.
19. How long do I have to wait before rolling down my windows?
I recommend waiting three to five days before rolling down the windows. I’ll put stickers on your window switches to remind you.
20. Why do I see bubbled or purple tint on cars?
The tint is either very old or of poor quality.
If our tint ever bubbles, we will replace it at no additional cost to you and it will never turn purple on you.
21. Can’t I just go to the store and buy some tint and do it myself?
You’ll wish you didn’t.
You’ll end up extremely frustrated, and you will probably end up paying, even more, to have it removed and re-tinted professionally…
Be careful, a tint-cut is worse than a Paper-cut…
You want to have a skilled steady hand for cutting exact patterns to custom fit each window…
Make sure you have plenty of bright lighting and all the right specific tools for each scenario.
22. What is window tint?
Automotive Window Tinting film is made up of alternating layers of a polyester polymer and a laminating adhesive.
Depending on the specific type of film, the polyester layer may be dyed, metalized, coated with an ultraviolet inhibitor, or simply added for additional strength.
Dyes are added to give the film its characteristic color.
Metalized film is high performance and gives the tint its color and greater heat reduction capability.
23. Will my window tint interfere with my navigation system or radio?
That happens with some metalized films, but I don’t use any of those products, so your window film won’t interfere with your vehicle’s systems.
